Parades are like moving theater. They rush, excite and leave smiles in their wake.
To quote from Stephen Sondheim's "A Parade in Town":
"There's a parade in town I see crowds, I hear yells There's a parade in town! I hear drums in the air I see clowns in the square I see marchers marching Tossing hats at the sky Did you hear? Did you see? Is a parade in town?"
The 3 October Holiday commemorates the liberation of the city of Leiden in 1574 from the Spanish after the Eighty Years' War with a parade through the city streets. This series presents photos taken in the parade in 2018 and 2019.
