At the end of a photoshoot, I had ten minutes of studio time to spare. I asked the model, Nicky, to free-pose for a set of portraits for the remaining ten minutes. Nicky grabbed some accessories that were on-hand, and we used those as well as a set of color flash filters for the shots. This series presents a set of these "quick and dirty" portraits. On balance, these are quite natural and expressive, suggesting that the decisive-moment in a studio may be more a matter of experimentation and improvisation than the best laid plans.
