The Dutch fall season is short and peculiar. The mushrooms blossom; the leaves cycle through their fall colors--blowing this way and that, before coming to rest on the ground; the skies darken and unleash torrents of rain; temperatures plummet; and the winds sweep the rain from top to bottom, and side to side. Before you know it, the days begin to turn dark at five in the afternoon, and all thoughts turn to Caribbean holidays.
This series was shot on a late fall day in Leiden. The model, Maya, and I wandered through a public park admiring the colorful foliage before finishing up the photo-shoot in our backyard.
