Recently I did a photo shoot with a model, Dierdre, who arrivedwith large bruises on both of her upper arms. With some trepidation, I asked her if she was alright, or if someone had injured her. She laughed and replied that no, these were just sport's injuries. What kind of sport is that, I asked?Sword fighting, she replied. It's the modern version of the ancient battles that the Knights of the Round Table used to do. Dierdre went on to say that although it's mainly men who take part in this sport, she and a few other brave women enjoy a good fight with the lads.
Momentarily speechless, I came to my senses and wisely advised Dierdre that it would be best if she kept all her limbs firmly attached to her body. She said that she most certainly would do so. In honor of Dierdre's sword fighting, this series starts with images of the complete model and then proceeds to slice her up, photographically, into a set of bodyscapes.
