This series was made at a time when terrible wars were raging in Ukraine and in Israel. The symbols of peace are many, but these are most often seen far from the horrors of war.
It’s hard to imagine that anyone would deny the people of Ukraine and Israel the right to exist in peace and security. Those who are victims of these awful wars are sometimes described as “collateral damage” but these are real people with real lives, families, dreams and futures that are cut short by unthinkable violence, and through no fault of their own.
In this series, I proclaim my unmitigated support for peace, everywhere and at all times. Peace images are projected, using a mini-beamer, onto a model, who is herself a refugee from the bloody war in Ukraine. May a just and lasting peace return to her homeland, and to homelands everywhere.
