A great headshot stands out, reflects a person’s best qualities, and makes a statement about the personality of the subject. In the past, most headshots were used for passports, driver's licenses, or generally as a form of formal identification. In this age of social media and selfies, headshots are literally everywhere.
Most headshots today look as if they’ve been crafted for inclusion in fashion magazines. They say that "everyone lies", especially when it comes to what they post on their social media sites. Indeed, in real life, very few people look anything like the headshots that they've posted on their websites.
This series includes headshots of family, friends, models, persons I came across in my travels, at body painting and tattoo exhibitions, as well as strangers I passed on the streets. The people included in this series come from all corners of the world and represent a wide spectrum of age groups. What all of these headshots have in common is that they are all beautiful in their own way. These headshots have been lightly edited, if at all--what I saw, is what you get. Taken collectively, these images prove that the world has abundant reserves of beauty, just waiting for that next special headshot to be made.
