A person's favorite songs say a lot about who they are. When I was constructing my top fifty songs list, I started off with songs that I thought were instrumentally or lyrically exceptional. I then moved onto songs that were especially memorable to me at different points in my life. After that, I thought about people who were very important to me, and the songs that reminded me of them. Ultimately, no song is inherently better than any other, but it is a song's emotional triggers, the memories it unearths, and its' transcendental power that fills the music with a deeper meaning.
A list of songs that are special to me is provided below. For each song, a small photo series is included to illustrate what I think about when I hear these songs.
